Thesis : People should get driver license from the age of 18.
In these times it is completely normal in USA, that people can get their driver license from the age of 16. It is generally known that the greatest risk of traffic crashes is among teenage drivers. 4 of 7 cases people who get in accidents are younger than 18. And parents don't really realized that. In place to put their child in the bus, or take them somewhere by themselves, they buy them those super fancy cars, which they are using as a toys and are not taking it serious. It is really dangerous !
In most of cases teenagers want cars really bad when they turn 16 years old. But they have to realize that not all parents can afford to buy them a car or spend a money for the gas all the time. If somebody wants to be a responsible adult, as they usually pretend to be, and have a car, then they should start thinking how to get their own money. That is one of the biggest reasons why parents do not want to allow their children having a car, because they just can't afford it if they do not have a regular job. Buying the car is not only thing that they have to do, there is also gas, insurance, taxes, services etc.
Everybody got to understand that at the age of 16 everybody is still a child and in the most of cases they are using the vehicle as a toy. They are showing off, feeling like adults, they just feel grateful. Teenagers tend to take more risks while driving partly because of their overconfidence in their driving skills. Young, new drivers more likes to take risk like speeding, tailgating, running red lights, violating traffic signs and signals, making illegal turns, passing dangerously. That is how most of the accidents happen. Teenagers tend to wear safety belts less often than older drivers too. That was not far ago when I read an article in the newspaper which said that people who gets in accidents are mostly young drivers, under age of 18, with less experience. The life experience is that thing that they just do not have at that age, because a car is a big responsobility, like for example you come out of the house and see that car tyre is flat, I do not think that in age of 16 most of the teenegers could change the wheel, especially female. They would have no idea what to do in emergency situations.
It is scientifically approved that younger drivers are always much more distracted by other things while driving. 5 of 7 kids non-stop texts or talks by the mobile phone. Probably most of them do not understand that it is even more dangerous than drunk driving or other stupid stuff that teenage drivers figure out to do in their vehicles. One more thing that is common in teenage society is listening to music loud, mostly to show off and taking more people in the car than there is actual seats in the car. I am a teenager by myself , so I know how it happens. A company of people wants to go to a party, they have only one vehicle, but a lot of people. Usually driver accepts to take everybody, because he does not want to feel betrated somebody, so he takes them. Passengers who are age peers may distract the teen drivers and encourage them to take more risks, especially for young males riding with young male drivers. But most of the people does not have any idea that they are disturbing driver to concentrate on the road with their conversations, music etc.
The biggest problem is that teenagers just can not handle serious problems and responsobilities, that can result in driving a car. Of course, everybody thinks - That will never happen to me! But later they got to admit that IT happened and I did not know what to do, just because of my immaturity and low life experience level. It is easier to avoid things like that when you are at least 18 years old.
